over just a few years, the coal industry has blown up 470 mountains in Appalachia. thousands of blasts each day flatten the landscape, removing what the industry terms 'overburden'. rubble is then dumped into valleys - 7000 so far - contaminating forest and rivers. and this is in an area people can see the damage...
Daniel Boone Parkway has been renamed after a coal magnate.
